BRIEF
To assist the clients with their full property renovation project. Planning for the narrow front driveway and parking space and for the much larger but divided and unappealing rear sloping garden


SOLUTION
For the front we created new formal boundaries with lighting that allowed for the existing hedging to complement the slatted fencing with a visual mix of formal and informal. Parking was cleverly ’suggested’ with granite sett ‘bays’ and the whole surface treated with a permeable resin cover colour matched to the building oak. The rear required a huge clearance and land excavation exercise to open up the rear completely and provide easier to use spaces, terraced for the family. A large formal space closer to the property with herb garden, pond, paths, neat lawn and dinning space giving way to mass planting, Gabion terraced divider and sports lawn for the children above.

OUTCOME
A visually pleasing space with clear open views to the full extent of the garden. Adults and children alike can enjoy the new open spaces, with easier to maintain boundaries, hard landscaping and planting borders. There remain further areas to develop including the evening sun decked dining space under the main oak, a hot tub placed upper rear and further patio works to the immediate front
